All about me
Writing about yourself seems to be the most
difficult thing under the sun. You know who you are but for some or other
reason you cannot put it into words. I am Naeema, a 27 year old female and a grade 5
teacher to the most colourful grade 5 learners with the oldest souls. I have
been teaching for the last 4 years. I enjoy working with kids however, I do not
see myself doing it for 10 or 20 years. My long term goals require growth,
professionally and personally. Information Systems contribute to my long term goals
as I will consider it as major come second year. Furthermore, the world seems
to be moving towards a technological era that you either adapt to or you will
get left behind!
I live a very vanilla life and don’t seem to do
much. I do not particularly enjoy watching movies as I have the attention span
of a gold fish, so give me a series any day preferably sitcoms. I do enjoy well
written books, good company and the occasional rugby game at Newlands, simply
because I am a Stormers supporter. I have an older sister and I am family
orientated and cannot picture my life without my family. I get bored quite
easily and need an array of short activities to keep me busy throughout the
day. Before information systems I never paid much attention to computers or
technology. I basically just desired a phone that could do the minimum and I
would be satisfied. Information systems forced me to look at the working world
very differently compared to my normal chalk and board routine. Technology is
rapidly changing and becoming a necessity as all professions are moving towards this system.
Goals help put life into perspective,
so we can see where we going and how far we’ve come. My long term goals are to finish this degree
in the correct amount of time for a part time student. To get into the honours
programme and completing a thesis that awards me an opportunity to do a
master’s degree that largely contributes to the bettering and development of an
economy that can be sustained and improved from both private and public
sectors. Furthermore, to provide better education and development for younger
generations as children will always be something dear to me even if I should
not teach any longer. Education is something that feel is extremely important
an in ten years I would like to have awarded other young girls the opportunity to
study further. Information systems I hope will aid my career along in the
direction where there is consistent growth and development.
